Meru Regionals: Cruising our way to National Levels

I have been looking for the right adjective to try and explain what we have achieved so far, and the closest I ever got was FANTASTIC. The Snipers set off to Meru with only one thing in mind and that was to get as far as we would, and that was by beating the best that crossed our way.

Having been to Meru previously, the locality did not seem that strange as it was the first time we were their. Although the rain had fallen down a couple of times, and the pitch had started growing grass, it still felt more like our home having won all our games previously on that pitch.

I am also a footballer!

Our ladies teams was up next, against the same team, on the ladies Like De Javu, our ladies won 2-1. The moment of the match was Cate's goal, which left everyone wondering and thinking. If you missed it, then there is little we can do but tell you that it was a wonder-goal and a perfect one in that matter. And that sealed it for The Snipers on day one.

Anto: aaah! ziiiii acha uongo

Hug and Kisses

Abbas: This is how you should do it!

Our first match was against KMTC Mombasa, who wore shades of blue-probably to try and tell us something where they come from. As it is with our game, we game them time to feel at home, express themselves before getting our work started. After that, the final whistle was what mattered most, handing us a 3-0 victory over The Coastecians.
Sweat and Joy of Victory

Day two started of smoothly, and we were back on the pitch with an Embu side that know exactly what we are capable of, after hitting them 7-1 in the zonal levels. This time around they manned their barricades very well, with a tight and full packed defense. All we needed was a minimum of a draw of any kind, and we would qualify for the nationals. And we got it in the end, when the game ended 0-0. Alex (The Capt.) had to be substituted during the interval, having sustained an injury on the knee, and could not carry on.

After the game, as a sign of personal appreciation, Madam Principal joined The Snipers, and bought the team smokies to crown the winning strike that we have had.

Day two of The Ladies Snipers was also very successful, winning 1-0 on a solitary goal scored by 'Miss Swagger, against Embu KMTC. The goal come in the first and it could have been 2-0 at the break had the umpire not called it half time, before Maureen re-took her  flick (penalty). This left every Snipers firing at the Umpire, asking why he wouldn't wait for the flick to be taken before breaking the game at half time. All the same, with that unfair play, the ladies still held on and won the game comfortably.
SWAGGER!!!
Waaah! I think I need a serious rest

DID YOU KNOW THAT:
1. Both The Snipers and The Snipers Ladies have not lost a single match in this competition? (UNBEATEN)
2. The Snipers have scored a total of 13 goals, and conceded only 1 Goal? The Snipers 13-1 Others
Now our focus has shifted and taken a elevated angle, looking straight at the Hockey Trophy and how we will be bringing it back to KMTC Nyeri. The Nationals will be held in Nairobi, and reliable sources have it that we will be playing at City Park. Playing on City Park is like a dream come through for many of us, and hoping that this is true, then we will stop at nothing than getting both trophies home. ITS OUR TIME!
WATCH OUT! We are coming for you too
